Transport Supervisor

Location: London Gateway, Stanford-le-Hope, Essex

Salary up to £45K per annum

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure customer needs are met and goods are delivered on time by effectively planning daily transport operations.
  • Inform customers of any issues and provide cost-effective, customer-focused solutions. Keep a log of operational problems and solutions.
  • Lead the transport admin team, ensuring that it meets all KPI’s and customer service targets.
  • Regularly check and improve transport efficiency by reviewing current systems and suggesting improvements.
  • Manage the transport department's costs, helping to stay within budget and proactively find more efficient ways to save money.
  • Plan and manage resources, evaluate priorities, and identify and address potential problems.
  • Assist in various HR tasks like managing absences, training, development, performance reviews, recruitment and disciplinary actions.

Skills required;

  • An extensive knowledge of LGV fleets and distribution
  • Logistics industry experience
  • Strong organisation and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and disciplined individual with strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of transport legislation (both vehicle and driver)
  • Excellent Computer literacy
  • CPC license advantageous

The standard working hours will be 40 hours per week, covering 5 out of 7 days.

Pension up to 7% employee contribution & 10% Company.

Holiday

Must have own transport due to location.
