RSR Public Safety are currently recruiting for 2 x Port Environmental Health Officers for a 3 month initial contract.

Job Summary:

Location: London Gateway Port (Stanford-le-Hope, Essex)

Contract: 3-months initially

Salary: 31.04 per hour PAYE / 36.03 per hour Umb

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To undertake Port Health duties, applying professional and technical expertise.
  • To be responsible for the implementation of Biosecurity controls of controlled products and be accountable for taking the decision on the outcome of this controls.
  • To supervise internal and external stakeholders operating at Border Control posts.
  • To enforce legislation aimed at preventing the importation of unfit, unsound, unwholesome and other non-compliant consignments.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Environmental Health, approved by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • Registered with the EHO Registration Board.
  • Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • Previous experience with a Port Health Environment.
  • An understanding of relevant EU and National Public and Environmental Health legislation.
