Our client are a well-established construction services firm, provides comprehensive project delivery across various sectors.

They are seeking a full-time Quantity Surveyor for an on-site role near Stanford Le Hope. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing costs, overseeing BOQ, planning budgets, and reporting. This role is crucial for effective budget management and implementing cost-saving measures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Cost Control and Management
  • Experience with BOQ and Budget Planning
  • Strong skills in Cost Reporting
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and regulations
  • Professional accreditation as a Quantity Surveyor is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field

Key Duties

  • Communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Assess sub-contract orders and provide feedback to the Commercial Manager.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Prepare applications and cash flow forecasts for project durations.
  • Develop and update pre-construction buying schedules monthly.
  • Procure sub-contract packages to ensure best value.
  • Draft detailed sub-contract and principal plant orders.
  • Capture and value project variations per sub-contract terms.
  • Review sub-contract applications and issue payment notices as required.
  • Prepare and issue project applications and monthly cost reports.
  • Conduct monthly project reviews and prepare detailed CVRs.
  • Compile comprehensive EOT claims with supporting documentation.
  • Assist operational colleagues with project account management.

Essential Experience and Training

  • At least 3 years of experience in a commercial or pre-construction role.
  • Familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and system databases.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
