Job Title: Saw Machinist

Location: LE11 Loughborough

Pay Rate: £12 to £13ph (DOE)

Working Hours: Mon-Thur: 07:45am to 4:30pm and Fri: 07:45am to 3:15pm

We seek a Saw Machine Operator with proven experience in the plastics POS or joinery industry who are motivated and ambitious to develop their existing skills and embrace new challenges.

Main duties and responsibilities of a Saw Machinist:

Set up and operate woodworking machines to produce high-quality finishes with tight tolerances, while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Saw Machinist will report to Workshop Manager promptly.
Set up, create jigs, and operate Table Saws, Overhead Pin Routers, and Bandsaws.
Read and accurately interpret technical drawings to determine the required components and the safest method to complete the task.
Saw Machinist must machine mainly plastic extrusions and mouldings according to technical drawings, ensuring the correct tooling is always used.
Maintain high-quality standards by self-checking all work produced and adhering to all CTQ notes on the drawing.
Perform standard operator machine checks and maintenance tasks.

Requirements and experience of a Saw Machinist:

Experience and technical proficiency with woodworking machinery.
Keen eye for detail and the ability to identify and rectify out-of-specification components.
Competence in mathematics and fluency in speaking and reading English.
The Saw Machinist must have a willingness to continuously learn, stay updated with new procedures, and share skills and knowledge.
A positive, can-do attitude.
Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
