The Role
  • Cut, shape and assemble steel plate components
  • Building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings with precision
  • Ensure quality is keep to a high standard through out and carry out visual inspections to ensure fabrication & build is correct to drawings.
  • Manoeuvre fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials
  • Working from engineering drawings & specifications and correct revisions
  • Place each product component in its appropriate spot as noted in the blueprints,
  • Engineer, Technical drawings for proper alignment by using the correct hand tools
  • Grinding, burning and other fabrication tasks
  • Review blueprints, drawings and other specification papers before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion
  • Employ furnaces or hand torches to heat up materials to make them more flexible for bending or manipulation into the correct specification
  • Make templates/Jigs for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality
The Person
  • Good knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication
  • Have understanding on Q.C inspection and process experience
  • Experienced in using Drilling Machines / Rolling Machines / Guillotines.
  • Experience in steel metal before
  • Interpret work from drawings
  • Experience in fabrication
  • Competent in using hand and power tools
