A renowned retailer is seeking a dedicated Management Accountant on a temporary-to-permanent, full-time basis.

OverviewReporting directly to the Finance Director, the ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience and be comfortable handling tasks from accounts payable to management reporting. This role is ideal for someone hardworking and eager to develop within the finance team, with opportunities for growth and expanded responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and address discrepancies.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving any issues.
  • Maintain cash book records and ensure accurate postings.
  • Oversee the fixed assets register.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including cash book, debtors, creditors, and fixed assets.
  • Support financial report preparation and assist with audits.
  • Contribute to the development of internal controls and process improvements.
  • Assist with month-end closing by preparing journal entries.
  • Provide support to other finance team members as needed.
  • Organize and maintain financial records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable in a versatile role, handling both bookkeeping and more senior tasks.
  • Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations and assisting an FC or FD with monthly management accounts.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Stock experience preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive learner with a positive attitude, ready to ask questions and tackle a range of responsibilities.
  • Able immediately for a full-time in an office-based role.
