We are actively seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to spearhead the culinary team at The Landsby. If you possess a genuine zeal for delivering unparalleled food quality while meticulously managing costs and ensuring profitability then this maybe the opportunity for you.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage high volumes of work, ensuring the delivery of a culinary experience that reflects Elysian's commitment to excellence.
  • Uphold Elysian's standards for safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices, ensuring a pristine and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Source and manage the ordering of all fresh products and dry storage items required by the kitchen, adhering to Elysian's commitment to quality.
  • Responsible for the effective utilisation of ingredients taking into account the number of residents per service to reduce cost and drive efficiencies
  • Drive the development of menus, adapting regularly to reflect culinary trends and Elysian's dedication to exceeding expectations.
  • Communicate efficiently with both staff and residents, embodying the warmth and hospitality that defines the Elysian experience.
  • Plan for special events and holiday functions, ensuring a memorable and delightful culinary experience for residents.
  • Maintain proper food holding temperatures, and ensure accurate records are kept
  • Conduct month-end food inventory
  • Recruit, train and drive performance of kitchen team, managing any team issues, ensure the continual development of skills in the team, performance manage team members when required providing corrective solutions.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Manager on performance appraisals, coaching, counselling, discipline, and grievance.
  • Follow company operating standards diligently, ensuring the culinary team operates at the pinnacle of excellence.
  • Meet weekly with the General Manager to update on department performance and set goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute and support decision-making processes related to emergency procedures, usage and care of food service equipment, and enforcing health and safety standards, reflecting Elysian's commitment to resident well-being.

About you:

  • Proven experience in a similar managerial role within the culinary field. Hotel, hospitality, and leisure experience are desirable.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, and a commitment to cultivating a positive working environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in food and beverage management
  • Be and innovator keeping up with the latest industry trends and menu development
  • Creative with a natural flair for thinking outside the box
  • Knowing how to recognize and respond to an aquatic emergency.
