As the Assistant Chef you will play a crucial role in creating a delightful dining experience for students and staff.
Working as the Assistant Chef your day will be filled with preparing and packing delicious meals, collaborating with the talented kitchen team, and ensuring the kitchen is spotless and efficient.
The catering service is all about precise, beautifully designed and nourishing menus. They cater for a healthy vegetarian diet, and provide food that is good for the body, mind and soul. DUTIES
Your duties as an Assistant Chef will include:
- Assist in all daily kitchen duties and report any defects, risks, or near-miss incidents immediately
- Support the kitchen and food & beverage teams by keeping all kitchen areas clean and ensuring crockery and cutlery are prepared for service
- Prepare various types of food or pack meals as required, ensuring adherence to kitchen standards and requirements
- Collaborate with the Chef Manager and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and prompt, professional service
- Perform thorough cleaning, stock management, and waste removal while complying with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous kitchen experience and a solid understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow strict instructions systematically and consistently
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
