The drainage operative role is hugely varied. A large part of a drainage operative's role is to ensure that there are no issues within the drainage systems that could cause problems in the future. The operative is responsible for carrying out a range of tasks, including simple inspections to make sure that water drainage systems are working effectively, and performing surveys to ensure there are no hidden issues. This is to be done in both reactive and proactive fashions and can be working solely or in a team. All works should be completed with the upmost Health and safety aspects in mind.

Responsibilities:

  • Will be able to complete repairs, surveys and cleaning of clients drain systems
  • Provide excellent customers service and have some general knowledge in plumbing
  • Be able to demonstrate and act in accordance with H+S processes
  • Record works via internal and external CRM portals
  • Have high standards in maintaining company and client equipment and assets
  • Provide clear communication to our internal team and clients
  • Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure quotes are provided completed to standard.
  • To achieve, and strive to exceed, all field objectives for each task whilst considering reactive and pro-active approaches.
  • To work effectively within the field team, ensuring health and safety and industry-leading operating standards are always achieved.
  • Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing for self and others always, complying with Health and Safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents, incidents or near misses to allow corrective action to be taken.
  • Any other duties as and when required.

About you:

  • Knowledge of health and safety, experience within the Drainage and plumbing discipline is essential.
  • To be successful you should always be expanding your industry knowledge and be able to quickly identify problems. Outstanding Drainage operatives are trustworthy, and able to build lasting relationships with their teams and customers.

You may have experience of the following:

Repairs including dig ups and drain replacements, CCTV surveying, Confined space qualification

  • Previous drainage / plumbing experience.
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Relevant training and accreditation to deliver works. These may include but are not limited to: Rail QTS - Personal Track Safety (PTS), Water Jetting Training (WJA), High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ)
