Labourer

My client specialises in manufacturing made to measure wooden packing cases and arranging full export packing services to transport valuable goods across the world. They have major customers across all sectors including medical and scientific, aerospace, industrial and fine art. They have been in business for more than 40 years and have 4 factories across the Southeast of England.You must be able to work accurately to deadlines, work well as part of a team and have a willing and flexible attitude towards the job.

You must have some carpentry skills and be able to work with timber to build and produce crates.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with timber and plywood to build and produce crates, packing cases and pallets for our clients' products.
  • Using power saws, nail guns, drills and other hand tools
  • Cutting foam for crate inserts
  • Forklift operation (desirable)
  • On-site packing for customers
  • Local customer deliveries when required
  • Working to high standards of quality and health & safety
  • Physical and varied work (heavy lifting is involved)

Salary is according to skills and experience. Paid overtime is available at busy times.Many benefits are provided, including full and ongoing training on tools and equipment and working methods, company uniform, PPE equipment, health and safety training and regular toolbox talks (Health and Safety is very important) as well as social events when possible to do so.We keep a friendly, professional atmosphere within our workshop and are looking for a keen person to join our growing team.
