Manual Miller/Jig Borer - As a Jig Borer/Manual Miller, your primary responsibility will be to carry out high precision work using a Jig Borer/Manual Mill. You'll set up and run the machine to perform precision machining operations, ensuring that tasks are completed within specified targets, criteria, and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Operate and Set Up Machines: You'll operate and set up jig boring machines and manual mills to perform precision machining tasks.

  • Read and Interpret Drawings: You'll read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.

  • Tool Selection and Installation: Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and work pieces on the machine.

  • Adjust Machine Settings: Fine-tune machine settings, including speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, to achieve precise tolerances and surface finishes.

  • Monitor Machining Process: Continuously monitor the machining process, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy.

  • Inspect Finished Parts: Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

  • Compliance with Quality Standards: Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies, procedures, and relevant codes and legislation, including health and safety guidelines.

Experience:

  • Jig Boring/Manual Milling: Proven experience with manual milling and/or Jig boring is essential.(toolmaking?)

  • Lifting Equipment: Familiarity with using lifting equipment such as Jib Cranes and forklifts to load/unload materials from the machine is desirable.

  • Team Player: A good team player who collaborates effectively.
