  • Tuesday: 08:30 - 17:30
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 13:00 - 17:30

Profile

A well-established conveyancing practice are seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary or Paralegal to provide essential support to their team. The office environment is relaxed and friendly, with a welcoming team - and some four-legged companions! The firm’s office is pet-friendly, so applicants must be comfortable around dogs. If the successful candidate has a dog of their own, they are welcome to bring them into the office.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a legal support role, particularly within residential or commercial conveyancing. They must be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a varied workload efficiently. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio recordings and complete copy typing with precision.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to client queries via email.
  • Offer comprehensive administrative support to conveyancers.
  • Handle document copying and scanning tasks proficiently.
  • Prepare legal correspondence and other documentation with accuracy.
  • Review and proofread documents, making necessary amendments.
  • Submit SDLT returns and process Land Registry applications.
  • Conduct property searches as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience as a Legal Secretary or Paralegal within a conveyancing setting (residential or commercial).
  • Professional and highly organised, with the ability to manage workloads effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Exceptional time management skills and a thorough understanding of conveyancing processes.
