Role Description:
The client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial aspects of various projects, with a focus on managing NEC contracts, budgets, and subcontractor relationships. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of key projects while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer NEC contracts with clients and subcontractors, ensuring compliance and effective communication.
- Manage contractual variations and event management processes, including early warnings and compensation events.
- Provide commercial guidance and resolve issues in collaboration with project teams.
- Interpret and apply NEC principles, advising stakeholders on risk and opportunities.
- Evaluate subcontractor applications, certify payments, and manage financial submissions to clients.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
- Liaise with legal advisors to ensure contracts meet required standards.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proficient in NEC3/4 contract administration and principles.
- Relevant professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIPS) is desirable.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors is essential.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software.
