What You'll Do:

  • System Support: Provide top-notch technical support to clients by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting system issues, and resolving problems swiftly to minimise downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, system audits, and preventive maintenance to ensure the seamless operation and reliability of control systems.
  • Fault Finding and Diagnostics: Utilise advanced troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex system faults effectively.
  • System Optimisation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system modifications, upgrades, and enhancements, boosting performance and functionality.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
  • Training and Support: Empower end-users and support personnel by training them on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and actively contribute to process improvements and innovation.

Location & Working Hours: You will be based at our head office but will also work at client sites across the UK. Our standard workweek is 40 hours with a flexible working hours scheme. Core office hours are 09:30 to 16:00 from Monday to Thursday, and on Fridays, you may leave at 13:00 subject to work commitments.

On-Call Duties: After your probationary period or once you're trained, you'll join the on-call rota. This means being available 24/7 for one week each month to respond to customer callouts, with remuneration of 100/week plus the relevant hourly rate for out-of-hours call-outs. Additionally, you may participate in our London on-call engineer rota, living in company-provided accommodation for one week with an extra 500/week.

What We're Looking For:

  • Full UK Driving License
  • Previous technical support experience for control systems or similar.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and HMI design.
  • Knowledge of control system protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
