Project Engineer

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer to work with a Renewable Energy company, in Swindon. They take a wide range of solid, dry feedstocks like household waste and transform this into low carbon biofuels.
As the Project Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Developing and agreeing project scope documents, seeking buy in and approval
- Providing risk assessments for project delivery, including technical, financial, environmental and safety
- Undertake detailed design development, including specifications, data sheets, detail drawings and layouts
- Hazard identification and supporting the design review and HAZOP process
- Identification of suppliers and contractors and development of tender review documents
- Developing delivery schedules, identifying and managing resources required to achieve this
- Management of suppliers and contractors
- Management of on-site installation/construction and commissioning activities, while ensuring that all health and safety requirements are met
- Delivery of all projects close out documentation
- Regular progress reporting against the scope, including schedule, cost, risk, and quality performance
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an Engineering, ideally with a Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Control & Instrumentation specialism
- Extensive experience in a similar Engineering field with a solid understanding of process engineering and control
- Prior experience in the role of Project Engineer, with a proven track record of successful delivery from design through to handover and closeout
- Good understanding of engineered systems, C&I implementation experience would be advantageous
- Proven track record of project delivery in a process/chemical engineering environment, with demonstrable evidence of knowledge of typical project management tools
- Demonstrable experience of safe delivery of projects, from concept through design and implementation
- Proven ability to work and to manage work safely, complying with all necessary legislation
- Experience of managing project budgets, cash flow and forecasting
- Experience of AutoCAD for drafting and development of detailed manufacturing drawings
- Solid understanding of the basic MS Office product suite
- Prior experience of working in hazardous environments, familiarity with ATEX/DSEAR
