Role : Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Swindon  

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: (Monday - Thursday) and 8am to 3pm  (Friday), 39 hours per week

Salary: Up to £50k, DOE

Hawk3 Talent Solutions is looking for a committed Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering firm located in Swindon.

Responsibilities:

- Bring production processes back in-house

- Improve processes using advanced tools or machining techniques

- Design jigs, fixtures, and gauges

- Manage master data including part numbers, bills of materials, and routing

- Update drawings and maintain vaults using Solidworks/PDM

- Identify and procure small capital equipment

- Analyse existing products for accurate costing

Production Engineering Support Tasks:

- Work togehther with operators and shop floor personnel to provide technical assistance

- Develop documentation and procedures for different manufacturing processes

- Create routing sheets and complete work studies

- Design fixtures and develop production layouts

- Specify and justify capital equipment

- Manage tooling specifications and trials

- Identify cost reductions through process enhancements

- Perform cost estimates and market research

- Identify new equipment opportunities and create justifications

- Conduct trials on new technologies

- Explore innovative manufacturing methods and technologies

Introduction of New Products:

- Source and evaluate suppliers to establish the supply chain

- Source necessary tools and equipment for new product manufacturing and assembly

- Design and order fixtures

- Determine product costings and selling prices

- Manage projects to ensure successful integration of new products into production

- Provide training and support to sales staff regarding new products

Skills Required:

 

      Knowledge and experience in a modern CNC workshop within a production engineering support role.

Familiarity with various engineering disciplines.

 

      Good understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.

 

 

HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) - desirable

A motivated and innovative self-starter.

Effective problem-solving skills.

Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
