ZPos is a rapidly expanding agency that supplies products and services to restaurants and takeaways. We predominantly offer an e-commerce platform facilitating the online ordering of takeaway meals as well as the supply of EPoS systems, telecoms, printing, and digital signage. ZPos's reach extends beyond these products, as we also provide web design and development services for other businesses under a different brand.

As demand for our online ordering websites grows, we are looking for a skilled Website Designer / Developer to join our team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in building functional and visually appealing takeaway and restaurant websites. You'll use your expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create high-quality websites, ensuring an exceptional online experience for users.

About The Role

The candidate will be working within a team of designers and developers to continuously build a range of websites for our client base. From bright, fun, and colourful to professional, modern, and clean, they will keep the user interface and usability at the forefront of their minds.

This role is focused on front-end development, requiring a high level of skill in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will work primarily on websites for restaurants and takeaways, building functional websites based on provided designs. Your work will involve extracting assets from design files and turning them into fully operational websites within our in-house system. There may be scope to design websites and to build for other markets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Building fully functional, responsive websites by transforming provided designs into fully functional, responsive websites, using HTML, CSS, and jQuery.
  • Customising templates, layouts, manipulating the DOM, and enhancing functionality using JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Extracting assets from design files created in Photoshop, XD, Figma, or similar tools.
  • Maintaining and updating existing websites as required.
  • Ensuring all websites are user-friendly and meet client specifications.
  • Providing occasional phone support, assisting clients with basic email setup, and discussing build approvals as needed.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Strong abilities in HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Very good understanding of jQuery, jQuery UI, and the Bootstrap framework.
  • Ability to extract and prepare design assets from Photoshop, XD, Figma, or similar tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proven experience in responsive web design.
  • Experience with quality control checking and testing
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Bonus Skills

Although these skills are not required, they may help your application.

  • Experience using Joomla, WordPress, or similar.
  • Experience with back-end coding (PHP, Node etc).
  • A creative eye for design, with experience in Adobe Photoshop, XD, or similar
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Experience with other CSS frameworks, such as UIkit, Kendo, Tailwind CSS, etc.
  • Content writing skills.
