The Company

Our client has grown to be one of the UK’s largest suppliers of building and construction steel reinforcement solutions for the forming, fixing, connecting and reinforcing of concrete into the Construction & Civils’ industry. This growth has seen the company turnover increase and their ability to service clients far beyond their expectations. With continued support for training with a guarantee that personal development will be encouraged and promoted our client is now looking to expand their operations in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area with the recruitment of a Health and Safety Advisor.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor from within engineering production and manufacturing sectors to develop their skills and experience. The core products will include bar, mesh, rod, connectors and “jointing’s” used in Civil and Large construction reinforcements projects throughout the UK. The role will be responsible for general advisement and co-ordination of the health, safety and environmental systems within a manufacturing environment. Checking that all test functions at every stage of the manufacturing process are compliant, advising on implementing change and correction of standards. The role will work with the Production Teams with the ongoing development of quality and safety improvement activities within manufacturing processes. The expectation would be for the applicant to follow established procedures and guidelines to confirm the organization’s working policies and standards, analysing any failure of compliance and working to promote a quality and safety-based work policy. Applicants should understand and implementing Quality and Health and Safety standards taking into account Company standards and UK legislation. Assists in providing ongoing feedback on Quality, health and safety improvements through reporting of quality data from detailed analysis of operator performance, capability and variability of product conformance in accordance with specific British Standards

The Applicant

Applicants who come from a Health & Safety Engineering type role or with Quality and Health and Safety Qualifications and be looking to enter the industry, working within manufacture and engineering would be best suited to this role. However, applicants who have graduated with a Manufacturing or Engineering Degree and have a real interest in Health, Safety and Environmental Engineering would be highly considered. These topics should have been covered in your course work and be something you wish to progress with.

We would ideally require

  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental manufacturing processes
  • NEBOSH or ISOH
  • Knowledge of quality, health and safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated and confident.
  • Must be organised and an excellent communicator, focused on achieving targets and have a lead by example approach.
