TeacherActive has a strong relationship with a Primary school in the Chesterfield, Derbyshire area that are looking for a learning support assistant to join their wonderful team. The mainstream school is eager to ensure their students receive the best possible learning they can give, and would like someone that’s hardworking and committed to be a part of them.

The candidate will work across various classes to give additional support to the children in the school. You will be able to assist with teaching a relevant, broad and balanced curriculum for pupils. Experience in key stage 1 / KS1 is necessary. The role will be mainly working alongside children with SEND, including ASD and challenging behaviours, so you will need to have great communication skills and be able to adapt easily to different surroundings.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

  • Experience in KS1 as a teaching assistant
  • Either level 2 or 3 qualified (Desirable)
  • Comfortable working 1:1 with students with SEND
  • Engaging with the children and motivated
