Are you passionate about supporting young learners and contributing to their academic and personal growth? We are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join a friendly school community in Steeple Claydon.

 

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and providing tailored support to students, particularly those with additional learning needs. You will assist in creating a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and independence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver lessons in line with the curriculum
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, focusing on students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials, classroom displays, and resources
  • Help manage student behaviour, fostering a respectful and inclusive classroom culture
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers, assisting in the evaluation of learning objectives
  • Support students during classroom activities, breaks, and field trips to ensure safety and engagement
  • Collaborate with staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
  • Promote student well-being and build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role is desirable
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach to working with children of all abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, teachers, and parents effectively
  • A passion for helping students achieve their full potential
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Experience working with SEN students is an advantage but not essential
