MBDA are recruiting for a finance professional to play a key role in its Cost Control team. You will be part of a team applying rigorous financial control to the UK Cost Base of MBDA, which involves partnering with leaders in the business, co-ordinating financial planning activities in support of the annual budget and longer term business planning cycles, whilst maintaining and improving best practices as part of a high performing finance team.

Job Title: Finance Cost Base Business Partner

Salary: Circa £40,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience

Location: Stevenage

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Minimum 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

  • Business partnering senior business leaders acting as counsel, challenge and decision support.
  • Co-ordination of functional business planning and budgeting activities.
  • Functional reporting to senior finance and operational leaders.
  • Consolidating functional headcount and strategic manning.
  • Acting as a key support into functional CAPEX evaluation and planning.
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify and standardise internal finance processes.
  • Taking part in month end close process.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a large multi-national corporate environment.
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction.
  • Proven expertise in building and maintaining robust financial models and interrogating data.
  • Ability to build strong and productive working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues, whilst maintaining independence and integrity.
  • Experience of presenting/discussing financial data with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge senior stakeholders within the business to make effective decisions whilst being cost-conscious.
  • Proficiency in using Excel, with an understanding of SAP being beneficial.
  • Experience of working in a team spread across several locations and a willingness to travel occasionally is desirable.
