We are currently recruiting for an Accountant on behalf of our client, a highly regarded SME fintech business based in Hertfordshire.

The key purpose of the role is to support the Financial Controller in the timely production of monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading in the production of the annual statutory accounts, and acting as the focal point on the external statutory and CASS audits.
  • Complying with all regulatory filings - FCA, CASS and HMRC.
  • Working with the Accounts Assistant, ensuring that all transaction processing (AP, AR, Payroll, etc) is completed on time and accurately reflected within the ledgers.
  • Optimising cashflow by ensuring payments and collections are completed on time.
  • Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the ledgers by raising and posting journals.
  • Completing reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, clearing down any reconciling items on a timely basis.
  • Producing all monthly management accounts and providing insight and key variances
  • Adhering to all measures within the ISO27001 standard, ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability at all times.

Key Requirements

  • Newly qualified Accountant, or Finalist with the intention to complete exams within 6-12 months.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised and fast moving environment.
