This is a newly created Financial Controller role for an organisation based in East Hertfordshire.
As Financial Controller you will work as part of the Finance team to support the Commercial and Operational activities of the UK businesses. You will have full financial input and will be a key member of the management structure, responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of every aspect of the financial performance in the UK. You will work closely with senior commercial, operations and finance team colleagues to support them in the most beneficial way possible and contribute to the overall success of the business.
Core responsibilities for the Financial Controller:
- Support the profitable business growth agenda of the business
- Support the FD in creating and maintaining a detailed operating model of the UK business units which will connect key operational metrics of the business such as sales growth, project profitability, capital investment appraisal and new project strategies
- Support the FD in creating and maintaining trading models / forecasts of the business
- Participate in driving all aspects of the ongoing cost management
- Providing support and challenge to the commercial teams
- Manage all aspects of cash flow management
- Ensure that there is a process in place so that the business meets all its tax obligations in the areas of VAT, CIS, Payroll Taxes etc.
- Delivering accurate, timely and relevant monthly management accounts to meet all local and group timeframes
This role is based in East Hertfordshire and can pay £80-90,000 on base. There is bonus potential of 10%, Pension, DIS. Hybrid working is available.
You should be a Qualified Accountant, experience within construction, civils or engineering could be an advantage.
