Eutopia Search is delighted to be working with a diverse, PE-backed group that is looking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an audit mover or a qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge.

Based in Stevenage and reporting to a charismatic Financial Controller, key duties include:

  • Preparation and Reporting:

    • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations for all Group non-trading entities.
    • Manage transaction processing for all month-end close procedures.
    • Support the consolidation of Group monthly financial statements and management accounts.
    • Prepare all monthly reporting packs.
  • Compliance and Record-Keeping:

    • Ensure the financial records of non-trading entities are accurate and compliant with financial reporting standards.
    • Establish and maintain robust processes and a structured approach to record-keeping, such as supplier contracts.
  • Audit and Taxation:

    • Liaise with auditors, prepare audit packs, and manage corporation tax returns for all non-trading entities.
    • Assist in preparing the Group consolidated statutory accounts.
  • System and Process Improvement:

    • Support the preparation of the PSA settlement agreement calculation for all entities within the Group, ensuring submissions and payments are on time.
    • Develop into the system Super-User and become a system Administrator for the Group Accounting software.
    • Lead efforts to leverage the accounting platform and drive efficiencies across the Group by utilizing the full potential of the system.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and consolidation accounting principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software is desirable
  • Ability to travel within the UK when required
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Good working knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102
  • A 'can-do' attitude; open to change and focused on improving processes, controls, and operational practices within the business
