Robertson Bell are working with a public sector organisation in Hertfordshire to recruit an interim Senior Management Accountant for a 12 month contract.

As interim Senior Management Accountant you’ll oversee a Management Accounts team, providing vital support on monthly management accounts, year-end processes, and financial performance reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop a team of circa six, focusing on performance, professional development, and KPIs.
  • Oversee monthly management accounts, support year-end financial closures, and provide key revenue budget insights.
  • Serve as a central point of support for finance requests and management information needs from the Finance Business Partnering team.
  • Ensure financial controls and compliance standards are met, supporting both management and financial accounting functions.

The organisation offers hybrid with two days per week in the office and three days from home. Interviews will be conducted in November, and the successful candidate will ideally start in early 2025.

To be considered you will:

  • Be a qualified accountant.
  • Have previous experience of working in either the public or not for profit sectors.
  • Be comfortable managing a team of more than six, with varying experience.
  • Be a confident Management Accountant.
