Senior Accountant Job Vacancy

The successful candidate for this Senior Accountant job in Stevenage will play a pivotal role in managing a client portfolio, providing strategic insights, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Our UK Top 50 client is seeking an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant skilled in all areas of general accounting, portfolio management and tax.

Alongside nurturing exceptional client relationships, the successful candidate for this Senior Accountant job in Stevenage will be able to provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior team members, foster a culture of collaboration, and promote professional development within the accounting team. If this role is for you, you’ll likely have one or two years of post qualification experience in practice and you’ll be experienced in coaching and mentoring a junior team.

We’re seeking a motivated accountant with excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data and solve problems and discrepancies. JobPurpose
  • Preparation and review of accounts for a significant client portfolio, monitoring all commercial aspects of portfolio management.
  • Preparation and review of working paper files, ensuring accuracy.
  • Review VAT returns.
  • Preparation and review of income tax computations, corporate tax returns and PAYE.
  • Support Partners during client meetings, providing guidance to clients and proactively handling queries and problem solving.
  • Overseeing junior staff, including review work and providing training.
  • Build strong rapport with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
  • Champion your own professional development, regularly undertaking training opportunities.

Job Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of two years’ post qualification experience in UK practice.
  • Strong up-to-date technical accounting knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
