We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join our dynamic team within the UK Support Function (UKSF), and to support the HR team.

Job Title: Business Support Officer – HR – Fixed Term Contract – Part Time

Salary: Circa £26,000 (FTE) depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Part time role (17 hours), job share over 3 working days, 1-2 days on site in the office is required

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join our dynamic team within the UK Support Function (UKSF), and to support the HR team.

The UKSF provides support to senior leadership and their teams and are based across our UK sites.

As a Business Support Officer you will provide administrative and operational support, and will be a central point of contact to internal and external stakeholders, playing a vital role in the success of the department you will be supporting. Within the UKSF we pride ourselves on high levels of team spirit and creating an inclusive environment where our teams can develop and thrive!

The Role:

  • Will be based in our Stevenage office, however, flexibility to travel to other sites may occasionally be required
  • Provide pro-active, accurate and comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Management team (HR Heads of), Employee Relations team and Remuneration & benefits team within the HR function
  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and Word documents accurately
  • Participate in HR process improvement activities
  • Assisting new starters within the HR team
  • Support shared email HR generic inboxes
  • GIFTS & Hospitality support (utilisation of the tool)
  • Donations & Sponsorship support
  • Comms & engagement activities (WeLink communities, Intranet updates, communications flow down)

Providing core support to numerous managers (in brief):

  • Complex diary management
  • Extensive travel arrangements and expenses
  • Organise complex meetings, be available to participate when required and take and manage actions
  • Organise events, workshops and roadshows, be available to participate when required
  • The role requires a high level of accountability, integrity, resilience and the ability to work within a team
  • Understanding and utilising MBDA tools and systems - i.e. SAP, EPROC, SELF IT, PLANON, ONEHR and other specialist tools and databases
  • Assist the HR population to optimise efficiency throughout the business
  • Develop to become the knowledge point of contact within the HR function
  • Participation in UK Support Function initiatives and personal development initiatives
  • Tasks may be varied and ad-hoc in scope
