The Opportunity:
The Environmental Trials and Analysis Engineer will be an integral part of the Trials and Analysis team, playing a key role in land, sea, and air-based weapons system projects. This team provides technical expertise at all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept definition and product development to design support, qualification, and in-service support. The role involves:
- Collaborate with customers on data evaluation, trials, and platform integration.
- Perform vibration, shock, and signal assessments to industry standards.
- Contribute to engineering capability improvements through process development.
- Gain experience in structural modal assessments and system integration.
- Work within a multidisciplinary environment on technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply specialist technical knowledge to complex systems and structural mechanisms.
- Provide technical expertise for data evaluation and project delivery.
- Conduct technical investigations and prepare reports on shock and vibration issues.
- Develop test specifications and execute vibration, shock, and signal evaluations.
- Plan, manage, and monitor work packages within delegated authority.
Salary: Circa 55,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Stevenage (relocation package may be available)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Typically, 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification
What we are looking for:
A strong technical background in environmental, mechanical or similar field with:
- Excellent investigative instinct and decision-making attributes.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
- High motivations and adaptability.
- Experienced in analysing vehicle/missile operations in complex environments.
- Instrumentation and signal processing experience helpful.
- Vibration, shock and thermal analysis experience preferred.
