We are looking for an Installation Engineer who is an expert engineer with a flexible approach to work to join our team in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire.

About the role:
As an Installation Engineer, you will be executing the installation and commissioning of both new and used air conditioning, refrigeration, and associated equipment with precision. Your responsibilities could also include performing service and repair work on a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Offering technical support to your peers, participating in our 24-hour On-Call system, and maintaining excellent customer relationships are key parts of the role. You will also be responsible for completing necessary administrative tasks, such as job cards, reports, and timesheets, and promoting Pitkin & Ruddock’s values and objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Execute installation and commissioning of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform service repairs and ensure optimal equipment functioning.
- Offer technical support and guidance to peers, fostering team development.
- Participate in a 24-hour On-Call system for uninterrupted client service.
- Complete job cards, reports, and timesheets accurately.
- Engage with clients directly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Advocate for Pitkin & Ruddock’s values and seek company growth opportunities.
About you:
You are a hands-on engineering expert with a flexible approach to work, ready to travel and adapt to client demands. Your strong understanding of health and safety practises within the refrigeration and HVAC industry is complemented by your proactive support for junior team development and keen eye for business opportunities. Technical proficiency and precision on installations is essential, as is your commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Excellent communication skills and a customer-first approach are your key strengths.

We have a fair, competitive salary of between £31,000 – 45,000 per annum dependent upon experience. We have a company pension scheme and increasing annual leave entitlement for length of service. You will be provided with a company van and fuel card and specialist tools and a mobile phone. We also provide regular manufacturer training, annual occupational health assessments and a winter flu vaccination programme.
