Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist (Immediate Start)Location: StevenageDuration: 4 Weeks (Temporary)Overview:Join a friendly and dynamic team as an Accounts Payable Specialist for a 4-week period. We are looking for a proactive individual to support an accounts payable team and ensure the smooth running of financial operations.Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Management: Ensure all invoices are accurate, compliant with tax and accounting regulations, and maintain auditable records.
  • Approval Process: Ensure timely and appropriate approvals by the correct personnel within the organisation.
  • Payment Processing: Process and schedule payments with absolute accuracy, manage the approvals process, and release payments from the bank.
  • Cash Forecasting: Collaborate with the treasury team to provide sufficient information for funding decisions.
  • Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile accounts payable ledger accounts and maintain records of any corrections.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with internal buyers and external suppliers to ensure smooth payables processes.
  • Expense Processing: Process credit card and cash expenses on Concur/Excel, ensuring correct coding and VAT application.
  • Management Accounts: Assist with management accounts, including aged creditor analysis.
  • Supplier Queries: Resolve any supplier queries promptly.
  • Additional Duties: Cover other finance duties during team absences, assist with financial audits, and undertake ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Sage 200 Professional.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including AP mailbox administration and filing invoice approval emails.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience in accounts payable within a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
