Job Title: Forklift Operative
Salary: £13.50 per hour
Location: Stevenage
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: Rotating shifts – 7:00am to 5:00pm and 12:00pm to 9:30pm, Monday to Friday
About the Role:
My client is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Forklift Operative to join a well-established and growing business based in Stevenage. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate. You must be confident working both independently and as part of a busy warehouse team, and flexible in supporting a variety of warehouse tasks.
A valid forklift license is essential – VNA, Counterbalance, Reach, or PPT will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating forklifts: VNA, Counterbalance, Reach, and PPT
- Light manual lifting
- Order picking and packing
- Using handheld scanners
- Replenishing and organizing stock
- Quality control and preparing shipments
- Ensuring products are packed to a high standard
- Working with a WMS system (Red Prairie preferred)
Skills & Experience Required:
- Valid forklift licenses (Counterbalance and Reach essential & VNA )
- Minimum 6 months’ experience using WMS systems – ideally Red Prairie
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Confident using handheld scanners
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, hardworking, and proactive attitude
