**Hybrid Working - 4 days home, 1 office**
James Lewis has been appointed to assist an MEP-led Principal Contractor with an HQ in North London in their search for a Senior Electrical Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team. Our client has a real focus on critical infrastructure working across a range of project sectors which include data centres, education, commercial, healthcare and science & technology in and around London, Southeast and surrounding Home Counties. They provide services from design, through construction and fit out to the maintenance of the projects, effectively offering an end-to-end solution.
This is a hands-on role with a responsibility for the production of Electrical tenders across their broad project spectrum varying in value from 2m through to 30m. Key responsibilities include:
- Organise or complete the required surveys and prepare detailed Electrical estimates, tenders and quotations to ensure that opportunities are being accurately estimated competitively, successfully and profitably
- Identify, quantify and mitigate areas of commercial risk.
- Support the Business in client meetings and estimation/tender presentations to help secure tendered opportunities
- Using relevant industry experience, you will be expected to help develop and refine the estimation process to improve efficiency, clarity, and accuracy while reducing overall costs
- You will be working as part of a team of 5 (2 x Electrical, 2 x Mechanical and led by the Pre-Construction Director)
- The Estimating software used is Trimble Contract Master
As Senior Estimator you would be expected to have a solid understanding of Electrical estimating working either in the MEP department of a main contractor or M&E sub-contractor. Please note that we cannot accept applications from candidates with general construction estimating experience outside of electrical.
You would also have an established background in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Project & Bid Management allowing you to understand and interpret detailed Technical Works Scope documentation. This is a hybrid role requiring just 1 day per week in the office, with the other 4 at home and on occasions the 1 day in the office may not even be required.
