Injection Mould Toolmaker

We are seeking a highly skilled Injection Mould Toolmaker to join our team in a modern and well-equipped toolroom located in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, modification, and repair of injection mould tools, utilising advanced machinery such as Hurco machining centres, Sodick Wire eroders, and CNC Spark eroders. This role is ideal for someone who excels in precision work and can meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality and safety.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Operating manual milling machines, lathes, surface and cylindrical grinders.
  • Working with manual and CNC spark eroders and CNC wire eroders.
  • Modifying and repairing Injection Mould Tools.
  • Manufacturing and fitting new injection mould tools.
  • Using hand tools such as files, hacksaws, and grinders for toolmaking tasks.
  • Wiring Hot runner systems and conducting fault finding.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in injection mould toolmaking and high precision machining.
  • Proficiency in fitting and assembly of complex mould tools, including their repair.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Experience in general toolmaking, milling, grinding, and fitting.
  • Knowledge of EDM Wire and spark erosion, and fitting.
  • CNC Machining experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Working Hours:

  • 41.5 hours per week.
  • 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday.
  • 08:00 - 16:00 Fridays.
  • Overtime available.
