42.5 hour contract.

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Head Chef to join and lead our team at Hotel Cromwell, Stevenage. A great opportunity to join an independent, family owned, company with focus on great food and service as well as training and a culture of internal progression and promotion.

Created 7 years ago and refurbished in the last 2 years, the Food & Beverage areas consist of the Rump & Wade, 100 seat British brasserie and bar, the terrace with a further 50 covers outside together with a lounge area and a busy conference and events business.

A successful candidate for the head chef position will have experience working in both banqueting and a busy restaurant business and should be excited to manage both areas of the hotel effectively. Our head chef will be passionate about leading and developing the team around them; have an excellent understanding of food hygiene and health and safety management, profit margins and labour costs; be able to confidently use computer systems to order and control stock as well as emails and rotas; and above all be able to consistently deliver great food!

OTE salary consists of £38k basic pay (42.5 hours), potential £3k bonus and an average of approx. £1.5k in tronc payments/year.
