A manufacturer and seller of high-quality drilling and cutting tools is currently looking for a Sales Manager to join their UK team based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B or B2C sales within a relevant field, and people management experience.
Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: 40-50K, depending on the experience
Location: Stevenage, UK (typically field-based with 1-2 days in the office per week)
Sales Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead sales team (2 field reps + 1 office rep)
- Set and monitor call/visit targets and conversion rates
- Develop sales strategies with the GM, track KPIs
- Train team in sales and product knowledge (with GM support)
- Maintain relationships with key clients; visiting 10-15 clients, twice a year
- Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to HQ
- Support lead generation with GM and marketing
- Attend relevant shows and represent the company externally
Sales Manager Ideal Candidate:
Essential
- 3+ years in Sales Management (team leadership, performance tracking)
- 5+ years in B2B/B2C sales (contractors, construction firms, distributors)
- 3+ years with CRM systems, Excel, or sales analytics
- Business development & account growth experience
Desirable/Preferred
- Experience in industrial tools, diamond tools, or construction products
- Understanding of feature/benefit selling, not just price
- Degree in Sales, Business, or Marketing
- Technical knowledge of diamond tools
