SEMH Teaching Assistant - Psychology & Criminology Graduate Opportunity

Location: Stevenage | Salary: £460-£500 per week

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Mon-Fri, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide 1:1 support or assist small groups of students as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, helping them overcome challenges and unlock their potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and clinical teams to create an inclusive learning environment and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support students' emotional, social, and academic development, using positive reinforcement and building confidence.
  • Work alongside educators and parents to ensure each student receives the tailored support they need.
  • Gain valuable, hands-on experience in a school setting, working directly with children who require additional support.

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field. Experience as an SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant is a plus but not essential.
  • A passion for mental health, education, and working with children who have diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient nature with a commitment to supporting students' growth and development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A desire to pursue a career in the education and training, mental health, or social care sectors.
  • Ideally located within a commutable distance to Stevenage.
