About The Role
Morrison Energy Servicesis recruiting for a High Voltage Cable Jointerto work on ourUK Power NetworkscontractinHertfordshire.

As a High Voltage Cable Jointeryou will be a part of our substation build team who deliver Capital Programme works on UKPN's 11kV, 33kV & 132kV Distribution Network. Your role will involve the jointing and terminating of 11kV and 33kV cables onto High Voltage equipment.

Morrison Energy Servicesis proud to be a key partner in theUKPN Alliance, deliveringsubstation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.

As a Cable Jointeryour duties & responsibilities will be:
  • Use and interpret manuals, asset standards and other technical information to assist with Installations and remedial works
  • Working in accordance with the company and client safe systems of work and permit to work systems
  • The ability to adapt and respond to unforeseen events and act accordingly
  • The ability to plan and coordinate effectively without supervision
  • Must be able to work on your own or part of a team.
  • Mentoring and coaching less experienced staff and apprentices in developing their knowledge and skills
  • If not known already a willingness to learn new skills i.e.
  • Electrical fitting activities on High Voltage switch gear, transformers and associated equipment
  • Installation of Earthing Systems
  • Installation of outdoor equipment such as Bus Bar, Disconnectors and Switchgear
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
  • To hold an NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline or completed an approved Apprenticeship
  • To hold a full drivers license
  • Act as a competent person to receive safety documentation
  • Experience in terminating Inner Cone and T-Boot cable terminations
  • Experience in installing Indoor / Outdoor Raychem 11kV/33kV terminations
  • Experience in Jointing XLPE to XLPE / XLPE to PILC 11kV / 33kV cable Joints
  • Experience in dressing and cleating above ground terminations
Additional Information
  • You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
  • You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.
  • You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
