Venn Group are delighted to have partnered with a highly regarded organisation in the not-for-profit sector to source an experienced HR professional for an exciting new role.

Location:        Hertfordshire (hybrid working)

Contract:        Permanent

Salary:            £33,707 per annum

Hours:            37.5 hours per week

Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring all managers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage employee relations in their teams and maintain a positive working environment in which their staff can flourish
  • Supporting line managers with a wide variety of casework, including absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievance issues, bullying and harassment, unlawful discrimination, redundancies, work-life balance requests and all aspects of family leave
  • Providing advice on investigations and conducting investigations from time to time
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining a plan to ensure absence management is effectively undertaken throughout the organisation
  • Coaching, supporting and training line managers on all aspects of employee relations, through a variety of 1-1 meetings, informal training sessions (over Teams or in person) and briefings
  • Keeping up-to-date on employment law (including impactful legal case outcomes) and good practice, briefing the senior team on any developments that require action or awareness to maintain legal compliance
  • Liaising with external partners or sources of help, support and funding with regard to employee relations issues
  • Assisting with a range of other duties and ad hoc projects such as TUPE exercises, change management (contributing to written change proposals and supporting consultation meetings), data-gathering and general HR and recruitment queries/advisory requests

The successful candidate should have:

  • Prior experience in the charity sector or a similar environment (desirable)
  • Proven experience managing an employee relations caseload
  • Valid UK driving licence with access to a car
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
