Job Title: System Integration & Trials Engineer

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

An exciting opportunity awaits for a seasoned Systems Integration and Trials Engineer to join our RF Seekers Team in Stevenage. This role is your gateway to spearheading RF and multimode system development, shaping the future of guided weapons.

You'll be part of ensuring seamless coordination across hardware, software, test equipment, and the entire weapon system, guaranteeing they operate harmoniously and meet set standards. Working with cutting-edge RF and multimode seekers in intricate weapons systems demands ingenuity and the application of innovative approaches to testing and trials.

In this role, you'll cultivate a profound comprehension of the system's intricacies, enabling you to diagnose challenges and provide effective solutions. Joining the Integration and Trials group will involve you in exciting projects from initial conception to design and production phases.

What we're looking for from you:

Experience with any of the following System Integration, Test and Trial techniques:

  • field trials/flight trials
  • hardware-in-the-loop (real time simulation)
  • anechoic chamber
  • synthetic data injection
  • environmental chamber testing (including electromagnetic compatibility)
  • compatibility/flat bench rigs
  • typical lab test-equipment

Familiarity with integration processes including planning test strategy, defining test equipment and testability requirements, test specification, trials planning, test and trials conduct, data analysis, documenting compliance evidence, and defect management.

  • Awareness of Model-Based System Engineering, the processes and methods, including requirements, modelling, and simulation, and how they relate to system integration and validation methods.
  • Familiarity with testing RF, IR, or other electronic systems and sensors would be desirable.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Matlab, Simulink, SAP, PLM/Windchill, DOORS NG/ETM, Rhapsody, Jira, Lab View, MS Office is desirable.
  • A curious mind, enthusiastic to learn about many different topics and apply learning to deliver high quality solutions, with a scientific approach to solving problems.
  • Great communication skills, especially in explaining technical information and coordinating issue resolution
  • Proactive and delivery-orientated attitude
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships
