Due to an increased workload, we are looking for Environmental Project Engineers to join one of Europe’s leading defence companies. You will be working with world-class, specialist mechanical and climatic facilities, utilising ground-breaking analytical tools and powerful, innovative techniques for simulating environments across the products lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical focal point throughout the product lifecycle, from concept definition to in-service support.
  • Provide expertise in requirements specification, proving methodologies, project management, data analysis, simulation, and environmental testing.
  • Apply specialist technical knowledge to ensure accuracy and successful project delivery.
  • Conduct environmental testing, including climatic, vibration, shock, and fatigue analysis.
  • Influence design, manufacturing, and proving processes.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, including Project Heads and Chief Engineers, to influence technical decisions.
  • Perform hands-on engineering tasks alongside analytical work based on fundamental engineering principles.
  • Understanding of vibration, shock, temperature, and humidity environments and their impact at different product lifecycle stages.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in planning, managing, and delivering small to medium-sized work packages.
  • Knowledge of environmental engineering within the defence sector or a relevant industry.
  • Familiarity with environmental test processes, test measurements, and instrumentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Inquisitive nature and a drive for innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, as you will be customer-facing, as well as meeting other stakeholders.
