Job Title: Finance Analyst

Location: Based 2-3 days per week in the Hertfordshire Office. It is expected to be office based during the first few weeks for onboarding.

Salary: On Application

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm

About the Role:

This is an entry-level role and will provide hands on experience in the financial services sector. We're looking for driven candidates with analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of the banking sector and finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to maintain robust financial controls, systems, and processes, ensuring efficient financial management and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support for the day-to-day operations of the Bank's finance department.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, generate reports using DPR, reconcile outputs in Excel, and work with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with the accounts payable process, including managing the AP email inbox, logging invoices, handling company credit cards, and coordinating authorization for payment runs.
  • Reconcile control accounts, manage loan and deposit accruals using Excel, and complete other ad hoc tasks as needed.
  • Guide auditors through the Bank's processes, organize documentation, and provide necessary backup for audit samples.
  • Monitor bank account balances to ensure adequate funds are available.
  • Notify relevant departments of incoming funds.
  • Deliver detailed financial and non-financial analysis to support senior management decision-making.
  • Verify and process loan and deposit payments.
  • Assist with the purchase of Treasury assets.
  • Handle Inter-Account Transfers (IAT).
  • Respond to and resolve internal and external queries efficiently.

Experience required:

  • A level mathematics or above or a Bachelor's degree in Finance.
  • Understanding of the banking sector and Finance in particular.
  • Excellent communicant skills both written and oral.
  • Analytical skill set with focus on problem solving.
  • Driven mindset and detailed approach to analysis.
  • Attention to detail

  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
