The Finance department forms a critical function in the organisation to ensure that funding is best utilised to provide a high quality policing service to the people of Hertfordshire. The department has recently adopted a Finance Business Partnering model to provide strategic support to Senior Management across the organisation and support Budget Holders to operate within their budget.
You will provide targeted strategic insight across departmental boundaries - linking analysis of financial and operational performance, the police financial climate, macro-economic trends, and the impact of policy developments, both local and national. And of course, contribute to achieving the vision, purpose, and values of Hertfordshire Constabulary.Your key responsibilities will be to improve the impact and understanding of financial insight on operational performance. You will work to provide analysis and deliver insight that links financial reports to operational strategies. Providing effective business procedures or initiating change to ensure key operational and financial targets are delivered.It is essential that you build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams, and actively participating in the wider financial processes of the Constabulary.
To be successful in this role, you will be CCAB qualified with experience in a Finance Business Partner role within a public sector organisation and the ability to demonstrate a range of soft skills, including project management, relationship building, negotiation, influencing, and facilitation.You will have strong analytical skills, both financial and non-financial. The ability to see the value in the information you provide and to inspire others to make use of it.
