MBDA are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to play a central role within its Operations Finance team. This role will focus on Programmes Finance Management for the Centres of Excellence. Centres of Excellence Finance is an integral part of the Programmes Team, you will be partnering with the wider Programmes Finance and Project Management teams to deliver effective, timely and accurate financial information and support.

Salary: Circa £50-55,000 depending on experienceÂ
Location: Stevenage
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

The Opportunity:
The Operations Finance team is a small team with a large reach into the wider MBDA community. As a key business partner, you will provide Finance and Project Management with accurate, timely and impactful financial information. You will have the chance to collaborate with individuals from various multi-national projects and Finance teams and have the opportunity to build strong relationships to help the business achieve its objectives.
Main responsibilities include:
- Business partnering with the Centres of Excellence Programmes to deliver and control KPI's. Report actual and forecast achievement against its financial targets, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
- Financial management of long-term contracts including: bi-annual Estimate at Completion (EAC) preparation, revenue & margin trading, adherence to IFRS15 and other reporting standards, intercompany trading, cash and FX management.
- Attending and coordinating monthly project reviews, reviewing and challenging data whilst understanding variances to previous months.
- Coordination and implementation of the business planning processes for budgets and long-term plans.
- Maintain international relationships with European Colleagues to enable intercompany contract control, financial reporting and programme delivery.
- Preparation of monthly Finance Reporting packs including summarising quantitative and qualitative data concerning programme performance variances and forecasts – proactively challenging programmes outside of formal programme EACs.
- Support to the Operations Finance Manager in day-to-day activities
- Support business improvement initiatives, being involved in defining business process and testing new financial systems.
- Deputising to the Operations Finance Manager in their Functional Operations responsibilities when required.
What we're looking for from you:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience of financial period closures and long-term contract financial management.
- Intermediate level excel user comfortable with manipulating data.
- Driven individual comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
- Ability to build productive working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues, whilst maintaining independence and integrity.
- Experience in using and understanding Enterprise Finance systems. SAP, BPC, SAC etc would be highly beneficial.
