We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller / Head of Finance on behalf of our client, a highly regarded SME fintech business based in Hertfordshire.
The key purpose of the role is to provide inspirational leadership to the Finance and Technical & Dealing Teams, whilst also providing financial and commercial support to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Fulfil all financial reporting requirements e.g. monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets.
- Acting as the focal point on the external statutory and CASS audits.
- Leading the production of the statutory accounts.
- Complying with all regulatory filings - FCA, CASS and HMRC.
- Preserving the integrity of the financial records and maintaining robust financial controls.
- Ensuring that all transaction processing (AP, AR, Client/Customer Payments, Payroll, etc) is completed on time and is accurately reflected within the ledgers.
- Optimising cashflow by ensuring payments and collections are completed on time.
- Maximising interest on corporate monies.
- Completing reconciliations of all accounts and clearing down any reconciling items swiftly.
- Producing the monthly management accounts and providing insight on key variances.
- Supporting the CEO with preparing the Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Budget.
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset register, and updating the prepayments and accruals schedules monthly.
Key Requirements
- A fully UK qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA), with at least 5 years PQE within the UK financial services sector.
- Extensive experience of directly managing teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
