This high-growth SME are seeking their new, knowledgeable and engaging finance lead, to join the SLT to help with the next chapter of their journey.
As the new Head of Finance you will be a key part of this.
This position is responsible for providing financial insights, managing key stakeholder relationships, and ensuring effective financial operations across the European group of companies. You will be highly analytical and data-driven with strong commercial instincts and experience.
With clear leadership, this company have an ethos of creating effective partnerships. You will work closely with the highly engaging and knowledgeable CEO as a strong strategic partner with all areas of the business as well as external stakeholders.
There is a culture of constant improvement and you will be reviewing, identifying and driving change to increase productivity and ensure robust controls are in place, allowing the finance function to be embedded with all material decisions both at the planning and the implementation stage.
If you are collaborative in your approach and have a history of offering insights and tools that drive commercially oriented independent decision making across previous businesses, this could be the ideal match.
Your success will ultimately be defined by the performance of the finance function, and you will need to proactively provide the information and insight necessary for decision making.Whilst collegiate in approach, you will need to understand the necessity of independence of thought and have both the strength of character, the moral compass and the nuanced personal skills necessary to challenge (upwards and downwards) when appropriate.
The business operate within manufacturing, B2B and online sales, dealing with some of the best-known brands in both this country and internationally. A background in these areas or another stock-based business is advantageous.
You will lead the finance function, overseeing all aspects of financial management, from day-to-day operations to long-term strategic planning. This will include motivating and developing a loyal finance team as well as taking a practical approach to the hands-on nature encountered within any SME on this path.
As with any organisation on this path, you will be adaptable and comfortable with a constantly changing environment.Due to the collaborative working approach, this is an 'on-site’ position with free parking.

Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with the ability to grasp the complexities, drivers and challenges of a high-profile membership organisation
- Prepared to work on-site in a highly collaborative manner
- Commerciality and demonstrable ability to understand economics and drivers in the relevant marketplace, before turning these into models / cases
- A positive approach with strong interpersonal skills
