My client is a Wealth Management firm located in Stevenage, offering independent financial advice to both private and corporate clients for over sixty years.

My client is looking for an experienced and qualified Paraplanner to join their well established team of professionals. The desired candidate must be Level 4 (Diploma) qualified with a minimum of 4 years paraplanning experience in a typical practice setting.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Financial Analysis: You will conduct in-depth analysis of clients' financial situations, including their income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and financial goals. This analysis may involve using financial planning software and tools to create detailed financial plans.

Report Preparation: You will prepare comprehensive financial planning reports, including investment analysis, retirement planning, risk management, tax planning, and estate planning. These reports should be tailored to meet the specific needs and objectives of each client.

Client Communication: You will communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information, clarify their financial goals and objectives, and explain the details of their financial plans.

Research and Due Diligence: You will conduct research on various financial products, investment options, and strategies to support the development of sound financial plans. This may involve evaluating investment opportunities, analysing market trends, and assessing the performance of different asset classes.

Recommendation Support: You will assist financial planners in developing suitable investment recommendations and strategies based on clients' risk tolerance, time horizon, and financial objectives. This may include asset allocation modelling, investment selection, and portfolio construction.

Documentation and Record-Keeping: You will maintain accurate records of client interactions, financial plans, recommendations, and other relevant documentation. Ensure that all client files and records are organised and up to date, in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Continuous Professional Development: You will stay abreast of developments in the financial services industry, including changes in regulations, tax laws, investment products, and financial planning strategies. Pursue ongoing education and professional certifications to enhance skills and knowledge.

In addition to working as part of the team and covering the tasks above, my clients Senior Paraplanners will undertake the following duties:

Report Preparation: You will undertake complex report writing.

Client Communication: You will serve as a point of contact for clients and may participate in client meetings alongside financial planners.

Research and Due Diligence: You will conduct analysis and research on more complex financial products, investment options, and strategies to support the development of sound financial plans.

Training and Mentorship: You will provide guidance and support to paraplanners or other team members, sharing knowledge and best practices related to financial planning processes, software tools, and industry trends.

Workflow Management: You will coordinate tasks and deadlines effectively to ensure timely completion of client deliverables and administrative responsibilities. Prioritise tasks based on urgency and importance, delegating tasks as appropriate within the team when requested.

Required Knowledge Skills and Experience

  • Good communication both verbal and written - essential
  • Ability to coach, manage and mentor a team and ensure accurate work within tight deadlines - essential
  • Broad knowledge of the financial services sector - desirable
  • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail - essential
  • Fully qualified Paraplanner
  • Knowledge of iO ,Excel and other research, analysis and data management tools - essential
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines - essential
  • A team player - essential
  • Be able to roll out new processes to the team - desirable

Benefits

A competitive salary of up to £50,000 (depending on experience)

This is a hybrid role, and you will be required to work a minimum of two days per week in the office, you may be required to work full time in the office initially, whilst your initial training is caried out. My client operates a 35 hour week.
