Our client, a leader in the space sector, is currently seeking a DSP Firmware Engineer to join their team. This permanent position offers the chance to work on pioneering space telecommunication payloads, instruments, and sensors as part of a dynamic and innovative team.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers developing space telecommunication payloads, instruments, and sensors
  • Designing, simulating and implementing digital signal processing algorithms for telecoms and sensing applications
  • Producing firmware design concepts based on inputs ranging from formal ICD & requirements to a wish list of desired functionalities in a 'blank sheet' system
  • Producing formal firmware requirements where necessary
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software for space missions
  • Maintaining and extending existing products


Job Requirements:

  • University degree in an analytical or quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or similar)
  • Experience in signal processing design and implementation
  • Design and simulation of multirate signal processing algorithms
  • Proficiency in C/C++ coding for SoC cores and/or vector processors
  • Experience with VHDL or Verilog
  • Experience implementing signal processing algorithms on modern AMD/Xilinx SoCs is highly desirable
  • Understanding of formal configuration control methods
  • Experience leading design teams is desirable
  • Familiarity with 5G/LTE radio stacks desirable
  • Familiarity with radiation mitigation design techniques is desirable
