Job Advert: Inspection Lead
Location: Leatherhead, South Mimms, or Dartford (with regular travel to other office locations)
Salary - Up to £60,000 plus company car and an excellent benefits package
Are you a proven leader with experience in overseeing large-scale inspection programmes? Do you have a strong track record in managing teams and driving operational performance? If so, our client is looking for you to join our team as an Inspection Lead.
About the Role:
As the Inspection Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing both statutory and contractual inspection programmes across multiple asset types. You will work closely with Delivery Leads to define clear inspection requirements, ensure high-quality standards, and meet deadlines, all within budgetary constraints. You'll lead a large team of inspectors, both internal and external, and will play a key role in improving processes and driving efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead inspections to ensure they meet quality standards, contractual obligations, and statutory deadlines.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and promote a strong safety culture within the team.
- Develop and implement inspection strategies and schedules across various asset types.
- Manage internal resources and coordinate subcontractors to deliver inspections on time and to the required quality.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor and control inspection performance, budgets, and resources.
- Prepare reports on inspection activities and present to clients and senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvements in inspection processes and methodologies.
- Lead team development and ensure staff retention and succession planning.
Who We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in delivering large-scale inspection programmes or similar planned work activities.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams within a matrix organisation.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a relevant field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is desirable.
