Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is seeking an MRP Controller. The role involves managing current and future manufacturing schedules, overseeing logistics management activities, and ensuring timely delivery of customer programs at the Stevenage site.
As an MRP Controller, the successful candidate would additionally report to a senior Manufacturing Planning & Control team member.

- An understanding of health and safety procedures necessary for the safe functioning of a team and knowing the boundaries of the job and how to escalate to more senior levels is also necessary.
- Previous experience in logistics or an associated discipline would be an advantage.
- The willingness to learn, develop and apply knowledge is essential to this role.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and databases is required.
- Knowledge of Kanban and two bin systems.
- Experience with a Production Planning System, e.g., SAP.

What you'll get to do as a MRP Controller:
The role involves ensuring the timely and cost-effective provisioning of parts and internal services, encompassing various activities associated with supply chain management. This includes defining and controlling the detailed manufacturing plan to maintain inventory and work-in-progress at minimal levels, consistent with a lean manufacturing facility. The position requires providing written and verbal updates on the status of the plan and achievements to date, using management reporting techniques. Additionally, the role involves tactically managing collaborative and preferred suppliers of bought-out items to ensure material flows meet programme requirements while minimising stock levels.
The individual will attend and contribute to review meetings, such as Integrated Production Teams (IPTs), Forward Planning Sessions, Supplier Reviews, and Cross-Functional Sessions. They will also contribute to implementing proposed task directive changes and new or amended orders, considering their impact on inventory and programme. Advising on manufacturing 'Best Practice' as part of a team and actively participating in process improvement programmes is also a key responsibility. The role requires deploying planning tools like SAP, Inventory Control, and KPS, and having the flexibility to use and develop new working methods within a continually changing environment. Finally, the individual will be responsible for the movement of hardware through the manufacturing process.
