We are seeking a people-orientated SHE Manager to oversee and implement Safety, Health & Environmental programs across multiple sites within the SE region.

Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

  • You will develop and foster strong relationships with other key internal teams to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Lead and assist managers and employees in their compliance with current SHE legislation and/or regulations. Providing advice to ensure all reasonable measures are taken to ensure safety issues are dealt with in a timely manner to protect the employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Ensure safety incidents, accidents and near-misses are investigated thoroughly to determine root causes and effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Train and educate employees on safety policies, procedures and best practices, including risk assessment techniques.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • You will lead and mentor a team of safety professionals while also contributing to the day-to-day work activities of the team.
  • Work closely with the SHE Team members in other regions to develop and implement standardised procedures and processes to ensure consistency and alignment across all sites.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or similar qualification or working towards completion is desirable
  • Comprehensive SHE Advisor experience within a complex organisation with demonstrable evidence of successful performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, health & environmental regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Adopts a positive and collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
